Reflective Post

As the end of summer EME 2040 is wrapping up, I feel as though I have gotten a large amount of information from this course. I have already passed along some of the technology that I have learned in this class to different teachers that I work with. One of them used the Flipquiz as a review technique for her end of the year exams. Technology is a growing into the teaching profession. At the school that I am working at now there are teachers that are taking classes to get the newest technology for the students. So there will always be new technology that is needed to be learned to progress in the classroom.
Working together in groups was sometime challenging thankfully in my last group we were able to pull thru and make a grade that we deserved without the full corporation of our group. The first group that I worked with was great we talked about what needed to be done and finished it in an ample amount of time to fine tune it. I was able to learn that some of the people in my group never worked in a classroom setting before such as substitute teaching or a classroom aide. This sometimes provided issues since they did not know how long some things would take and wanted to rush the lesson without knowing they were doing it so that propped a problem that was fixed after we talked about it and we moved it to two different days. Overall I loved this class I thought that there was a lot of work but it was very beneficial. There are many things that I will be taking on to my other classes from this class that I believe that will help me flourish in my other classes. Resources: Kiisel, T. (2013, March 13). Chapter 11 & 12

Three concepts to reflect on: 1) Assessments: there are three different assessment type new teacher assessment which is the assessment that the supervisor gives the new an assessment on the work that they are doing. The student assessment which is the one that the teacher gives the student to see how the students are learning and to see if you are effectively teaching the information that is needing to get across to the students. Student self-assessment this shows how well the student is participating in the assessment process. 2)Online surveys for preassessments: this is something that occurs before introducing a new lesson or topic. This is to tell us if there is prior knowledge-based learning. 3)Automate or informate, automate is when technology recreates something that already exists. While informate happens when technology changes something fundamentally redesigns it and refines it. In conclusion everything is always be assessed and trying to be made better so that we can keep up. Supervisors are now using technology to use software to document the assessment that they are doing. All in all technology is always growing and we have to stay up with it to make our teaching better.

Chapter 4 & 9

Three concepts to reflect on 1) Teaching goals, methods, and procedures: these are things that are in teachers daily formats. Every teacher set goals that they want to meet, make realistic goals are good goals. By that I mean teachers having a goal that every student will take an A.R test. Using technology such as a prezi, power point, or even a WebQuest is great in acheiving goals. 2)Learning Assessments: This is a great way to keep your grades in order, doing online surveys, a rubric for when students do projects or anything that needed to have an outline of what needs to be done. Making up tests and quizzes there are programs out there that mixes up the questions so that cheating is a little bit more difficult. 3)Digital Story telling: This is a great way to combine audio, text, and viedos. This is one of the best ways to get students attention and get them hooked into the subject that is being introduced or gone over again. In conclusion: Technology is an everyday use for a teacher that is trying to teach in the 21st century. Everything that is done in a classroom now has some sort of technology tied to it.

Chapter 6 & 10

Three concepts to reflect on: Managing infomation electronically Bookmarking is a great way to keep something that is important to you accessable to you in a a moments notice. Cloud computing Accommadations in the classroom: Low-tech accommodation refer to changes made that are made easily, inexpensively, and without applying digital materials. Mid-tech accommodation shifts in organization and delivery of curriculum that include the use of digital materials. High-tech accomodation associated with the integration of computers and other specialized information technologies in the classroom.
